Do You Have A Successul Pre-Shot Routine?

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD - JUNE 06: Lorena Ochoa (ME...

You have probably already noticed this about an advance player and pro in the game. He or she has a distinct routine they follow when its to hitting golf shots. You most likely do to some extent yourself and may not be all that aware of it but as you progress from just being a recreational golfer to more of an advanced player, you see the value in hitting your golf shots this way.

Golf as a game is unique in that it is a complete balance between the physical and the mental game and from this effort, a need for a pre-shot routine is beneficial to the player to play from.

The keys to a good pre-shot routines are as follows:  look the shot over and pick a club to hit the shot, commit to your decision, rehearse the shot with a practice swing or two, visualizing the shot at hand going to the target or hole, swing with intention and execute your plan, and expect the shot going to the fairway or green or hole.

The key is to say focused, relaxed and in tune with your objective and play with feel and decisiveness. Not allowing to get too tight and serious about it all and being care-free.

Learn to practice your routine on the range so you are well drilled and can easily execute the shot on the course when you need to and when the pressure is on.

Let me know how you do with this as I always like to hear from a student who is progressing with his game and having wins.
